Architech have developed a single frame panoramic viewing system for The Highland Council for the accurate visual impact assessment of cumulative effects involving two or more windfarms or where the extent of a single windfarm exceeds the horizontal field of view of a 75mm focal length (27º).

The viewer can accommodate images created in planar projection up to a horizontal field of view of a 24mm wide-angle lens (73º) and a horizontal field of view up to 360º for images created by cylindrical projection. A focal length of 75mm for on-shore developments and 80mm for off-shore developments is accurately controlled by computer to give a realistic impression of scale and distance, similar to turning your head to scan the real landscape.
